- Hello Dear Reader,
Mother Goose Etc.
is an altruistic result of several qualities occurring simultaneously: ability
(both technical and financial) - desire - determination - and
need, although not necessarily in that order.
Beginning at the
beginning, being most logical, I must relate that at an early age my Mother introduced
me to Mother
Goose Rhymes, Bible Stories, and Aesop's Fables.
Being raised in a poorer middle-class family, my Mother had more love
than anything else to give, and she did it by instilling in me values and
interests which have accompanied and guided me through out my entire life.
"Ding, Dong,
Bell" teaches against cruelty to animals. "Mary Had a Little
Lamb" teaches to be loved, one must also love. Aesop's fables cover such
topics as Beware of what you ask for in the "Frogs Asked for a
King" to Flattery in the "Fox and the Crow". Bible Stories teach
us such as not to steal, not to murder, to be respectful to our parents, etc.
These principles are the foundation of our system of law, and follow us through
out our lives. Limericks, are for fun; they're the easiest form of poetry to
understand and appreciate and give us a foundation for more serious writing.
So, the point is that
Mother Goose Rhymes, with Bible Stories, Aesop's Fables and Children's Stories at
large are the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Enjoy these offerings,
written and audio, they're classic, good, and finally, ultimately rewarding.
Sincerely, Bob Butler, et
