* This is an altruistic charitable effort.
The benefits of incorporating as a charity are that donations may be tax deductible, and that the principles may be paid. The downsides are that there is much federal government regulations with which to contend. As we are hoping for many donations of books, and for an occasional $2 or $3 donation, incorporating as a licensed charity is cost prohibitive, and consequently not worthwhile. As we are not taking any remuneration for ourselves, and even if donations are scant, we will accomplish our goal, and therefore from a legalistic and nominal point of view, Mother Goose, Etc. is and will remain a charitable effort.
